Hi, I’m Kyle

As the child of a therapist, I grew up curious about how the mind worked and how it led to our pattern of behaviors as adults. This curiosity helped me find my own way through the stress, anxiety, and depression-like symptoms that we all experience as we attempt to make our way through this world.

Working through these symptoms proved easier said than done. As I’ve faced mental health challenges, I sought out help, and most of the time, this help consisted of talking about my problems with someone or reading books on how to overcome them. I would feel better for a time, but eventually I would get triggered, and it felt like I was starting over…with less hope and more despair.

It was not until I discovered EMDR therapy that I realized that my mental health challenges were symptoms of something deeper. Something that “just” talking about would not solve the problem, and often would worsen over time.

With the help of EMDR therapy, I was able to get to the root of my problems and create a permanent change in my mental health…and this is what inspired me to become a therapist. I wanted to help people not just learn coping mechanisms to deal with their stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms, but to treat the cause.

If you are ready to stop the cycle of hope leading to despair and get to the root cause of your mental health challenges, I encourage you to learn more about my journey and how it might align with you!

About Mind Free Counseling

The goal of Mind Free Counseling is to help individuals free their mind from the “thinking problem” that keeps us feeling stuck.

To free your mind from the “thinking problem” one needs to get to the source of the problem…and it’s not in the mind. This is why top-down methods that focus on thinking do not have a lasting impact. The source of the problem can only be found in the trauma that gets stored in the body, which is why Mind Free Counseling focuses on bottom-up methods like EMDR and KAP therapies that resolve the trauma at the root. The result is we feel in control, safe and most importantly we feel compassion for ourselves from within.

What clients come to Mind Free Counseling for:

  • Anxiety, depression, anger management, PTSD and any other mental health challenge.
